Outreach Ministries

Curtis Baptist Church believes it's important to be active in our community, as well as supporting missions. We participate in so many wonderful causes, and really make a difference in people's lives!

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and gave you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

4th of July Parade

Each year we participate in the local 4th of July parade by building a great float and handing out candy to the folks lining the streets. The Curtis Parade has been called the "Biggest Little Town Parade", and is always on the Sunday nearest the 4th.

Random Acts of Kindness

We encourage "Random Acts of Kindness" by providing action cards. When you perform a kind act for someone, you can give them this card to show that someone from the Curtis Baptist Church Family has paid for their drink, their meal, their groceries, etc. There are many opportunities to help others in our community with an unexpected blessing!

Military Care Packages

We support our troops by supplying them with Jerky, Power Bars, Toiletry items, Stationery, etc. If you would like to participate, please place any of these items in the footlocker in the back of the Worship Center. These packages go to our troops through Missions to Military, Missionary John Ahern.

Care Net Pregnancy Center

We support the Care Net Pregnancy Center EUP, located in Sault Ste Marie, MI., by putting spare change in used baby bottles. We also contribute gently used baby clothes up to size 5.  Dawn Abram is your contact for this also.

Missions

Our church has a strong missions ethic, and we support many different missionaries, both financially and prayerfully. Please join us in praying for them, and contact Pastor Ray for specific areas in need of prayer.

Operation Christmas Child

We provide Christmas for children! Age appropritate shoeboxes are filled with small toys, candy, school essentials, personal care items and clothing; and are distributed through Samaritans Purse.

Items are collected throughout the year. Please check our "Calendar" page to see what we are collecting this month, and place them in the box in the foyer. If desired, you can request an empty shoebox and fill it yourself! For questions, contact Dawn Abram (see "Contact Us" page).

Community Outreach

Our church provides dinners, at no cost to participants throughout the year. We have a Smelt Fry dinner in April, a Wild Game dinner in November, and others from time to time.

There are many other community events where Curtis Baptist Church plays an active role. Please check the "BULLETIN" on the home page for the most up-to-date information.

Trunk or Treat!

Our community and our Church provide a safe, fun place for children to participate in Halloween activities by decorating car trunks, dressing up and facepainting!
